Praise for Ink Trails II

A winner of a 2016 Michigan Notable Book award has generously praised Ink Trails II.  Jack Lessenberry, a versatile writer and radio   He calls the book “equally fascinating” when compared with its predecessor. Jack co-authored the memoir of Frank Kelley, who served as Michigan Attorney General for a record-shattering 36 years. My brother Jack and I did an extended radio interview with Scott Pohl of WKAR Radio that was broadcast this week.  And Thursday night we jointly appeared at a talk on our book sponsored by the Greater Lansing Historical Society. A Twofer in Lansing April 28

Ink Trails II gets its first public reading by coauthors Jack and Dave Dempsey in Lansing on the evening of April 28. Michigan’s Notable Books

How many people have ever heard of Michigan Notable Books? Last night’s annual MNB event in Lansing was a chance for me to learn about 20 books by Michigan authors or about Michigan subjects that I would otherwise never have known about.  I bought one and will probably pick up another one or two.  Authors are producing a rich Michigan literature ever year to add to the  gold vault. I was there to participate in a panel discussion of biographers of Michigan governors.  My only regret about the evening was not encouraging the audience to buy a copy of Larry Glazer’s biography of Gov. John Swainson, “Wounded Warrior.”  Swainson’s life was an epic of tragedy and renewal and Larry tells the story faultlessly....
