The Uncredited Co-Author

In the introduction to Ink Trails II I describe Michigan’s natural beauty as the uncredited co-author of many creative works. That’s because many of the authors Jack and I profile were clearly inspired by the land, the water, and even the sky of Michigan.  Some created works that could not have been written elsewhere. For me, it’s the water, especially the Great Lakes.  These mammoth but vulnerable waters expand one’s perspective to the infinite.  In doing so they liberate me from daily preoccupations.
